We perform rigging inspections aloft based on a thorough visual examination on vessels up to 24m with conventional type rigs. For larger yachts or those equipped with more exotic rigs we tend to employ the main local brand agent or local reputable rigger to inspect the rig aloft under our direction and supervision. By working under our supervision, we ensure that findings are conveyed to the client in a factual, objective and impartial manner. It is recommended that standing rigging manufactured in Rod is dismantled and its components thoroughly inspected, on average, every four years or 35,000 nautical, which ever comes first, depending on the use of the vessel. By applying a combination of various NDT methods (Ultrasound, Dye Penetrant, Optical, etc) we can assess the condition of most critical components, making sure that only those components that are faulty or suspicious are replaced, avoiding unnecessary costs and delays. |
